Lehman Brothers – Roppongi Hills’ Third Major Casualty

Tuesday, September 16th, 2008

hills 225x300 Lehman Brothers Roppongi Hills Third Major Casualty

Japan Financial Services agency has ordered Lehman Brothers Holdings to cease operations by September 26 and for the company to protect its investors and assets in Japan. Well, we’re not a news agency, so what we are really wondering is what will happen to their offices in Roppongi Hills. Their offices are located on the 29F〜32F of Mori Tower in Roppongi Hills.

This is the third major firm who had offices in Roppongi Hills to have serious problems. Remember Livedoor and Murakami Fund? Yep and Livedoor has now relocated to Kabukicho in Shinjuku and Murakami Fund may be operating from a jail cell (Fund disbanded and Murakami arrested in 2006). Actually Cybird also went private (hmm..”delisted”), most likely from its falling stock price. Maybe it’s just bad luck. Wonder who’s next. In any case, less drinking at the nearby bar Heartland I guess.
