More mapping of Nishi-Azabu

Sunday, June 24th, 2007

Nishi-Azabu has proved a very interesting area for us. So many hidden, and I mean hidden, gems! It has been one of the most challenging areas to map, but very well worth it. Search for some places by name, category + area, etc. Try it out.

But if there is any place in Nishi Azabu that you cannot find. Please send us an email to roppongi@gmap.co.jp with the name and phone number of the location and we will try to map it out.

Million Person Candle Night in Yoyogi Park

Sunday, June 17th, 2007

00010364 01 Million Person Candle Night in Yoyogi Park
GeshiFes2007 will hold its Million Person Candle Night in Yoyogi Park Event Area on June 22 (Friday) 17:00〜21:00. The event will actually be held June 22-24 in many locations around the country, including two other places in Tokyo and one in Yokohama. Here is an event map and I am sure there is one near you. http://event.candle-night.org/

What is candle night? Well here is a link that better explains it. Sorry, but it is only in Japanese. http://www.candle-night.org/about/.

The title is “Turn off the light, take it slow.” It could mean many things, such as rethinking our current lifestyle, spending time with your loved ones in quiet manner, highlighting energy conservation, etc.

We have created a map of Yoyogi Park Event Space with link to monthly schedule, so that you can check what is going on anytime. Also, the map has marked places to use to meet friends. Yoyogi Park Event Area I know it is a bit hypocritical to introduce a site, especially a mobile one, so I at least want to remind you to turn off your phones during the candle light period. Remember, many will use this opportunity to reflect on their life, society, etc.

And remember, take it quiet and easy.

OMG! Japan – Sketch Comedy – Show Schedule for June

Friday, June 15th, 2007

OMG! Japan, Tokyo’s only (and therefore best) sketch comedy team, is taking the Tokyo stages by storm this summer! Fresh from their internet TV series, OMG! Japan, currently being broadcast on Spinshell.tv (http://www.spinshell.tv), this band of malcontents is ready to bring the experience of the small screen to live audiences.

In June, OMG! Japan Presents: Bob Dillon ? Episode 02 : Homo Be Jealous, a mash-up of television sitcoms and sketch comedy. Bob’s got a new girlfriend, who even participates in Bob and Dillon’s sketch fantasies, causing poor insecure Dillon to fly into a spiral of self-destruction and self-sabotage. When an internet escort of the male persuasion is called upon, the whole house comes tumbling down.
