GMAP Today: National Art Center, Tokyo

Japan’s newest art museum (opened its doors on January 21), consisting of 14,000 square meters of exhibition space, is the largest in the nation. The museum’s website states that instead of keeping a permanent art collection, it would concentrate on offering its space to various art exhibitions.

The building itself is a work of art. Very beautiful architectural design. The center not only hosts works of art, but has a restaurant, cafes and a museum shop. I have yet to visit the museum, but plan to do so in the near future.
